Interested in Language Learning and Teaching with Technology?

You’re in the right place!

The European Association for Computer Assisted Language Learning (EUROCALL) is an organisation that brings together researchers, practitioners and developers – both new and experienced – who feel passionate about the use of technology for the learning and teaching of languages and cultures.

Established in 1993 by the European Commission, we are looking back at 30 years of forming and sharing knowledge drawing on fields such as Applied Linguistics, Educational Technology, Computer Mediated Communication, and – more recently – Digital Literacies.

While catering for a vibrant audience from around the globe, the EUROCALL community offers a European lens for the creation and dissemination of innovative research and practice in technology- mediated language learning and teaching.

We provide a supportive environment for individual and collaborative researchers keen to push boundaries while keeping language learners’ needs – including language teachers as learners – at the forefront of their mind.

Yet, we are equally committed to meeting the needs of our members: those who are figuring out what their specific interest in the use of technology for language learning is, as well as established colleagues who want to keep abreast with the most recent developments.

We invite you to join EUROCALL and to get involved:

  • Attend and/or present your work at our annual conferences
  • Join our Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
  • Submit your article to ReCALL or to the EUROCALL Review
  • Keep in touch via social media!
  • We look forward to meeting you, at some of our events.

OUR MISSION

Established in 1993 with support from the European Commission, the European Association for Computer Assisted Language Learning, EUROCALL, brings together researchers and practitioners who feel passionate about the use of technology for the learning and teaching of languages and cultures. EUROCALL promotes the creation and sharing of knowledge in areas such as Applied Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics, Digital Pedagogy, Digital Literacies, and Computer-Mediated Communication.

While engaging a vibrant audience of CALL professionals from around the globe, we offer a European forum for the creation and dissemination of innovative research and practice in our field.

We provide a supportive environment: at our annual conferences, during events organised by our growing number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and through access to our ever-expanding networks via social media. We also promote the submission of high-quality publications either in the ReCALL journal, The EUROCALL Review or in our short papers volume from the conference.

Thanks to our members who as individuals and in teams continue to push boundaries in CALL-related research and practice, we have been going from strength to strength for over 27 years and look forward to welcoming you to an exceptional community of CALL professionals.
